Dutch Design Week is happening at the moment in Eindhoven – which has been a spring of cooperative and interactive design. Part of the programme is the Urban CampScape, where guests and visitors make themselves at home and spend the night in Strijps Bultje. As planned by the organiser, campers will enjoy local and organic breakfasts, lunches and dinners, guerilla gardening and salsa-dancing, and live music by The New Habit and Vilt. Also board games with strangers, a lazy night of movie!! These are all ideas that we should definitely consider adding to our pop up swaps.
But more important is the idea of offering free space to citizens to enjoy. An idea that we Hong Kongers must learn from – seeing our police doesn’t really like the idea of having homeless people laying beds under bridges and back streets.
